Fellowship Groups, Adults
St. Mark’s seeks to offer a Sunday morning study group (Sunday School class) for diverse sorts of persons. These classes meet between worship services (9:45 to 10:45) in our Education Annex.
They include:
The Round Table Class - a larger and friendly class bringing together 20-25 persons of diverse ages. The class uses the International Lesson series and meets in the Fellowship Hall (upper floor). Contact Norman Craft (992-4129) for more information.
"The Bible Class" - is a smaller group, designed especially for older women. The class meets in the Parlor, to the right of the main lobby.
Methodist101.com - a non-traditional class that looks at the essential components of Christian faith and Methodist tradition. Made up mostly of Baby-boomers, this class often gathers for fellowship activities outside Sunday AM. Find 101.com in the Conference Room off the main lobby, or call Kathy Beard (977-0634) to find out more.
Tough Questions - this lively, discussion-oriented class meets periodically to tackle topics such as World Religions, what happens when we die, and other "tough questions". Meets downstairs. Contact Katie Pickard (992-3030) for more information.
Chrysalis - is presently studying “Great Themes of the Bible.” An engaging group of young adults, Chrysalis meets downstairs; call Phillip Pickard (427-0568) for more information.
Child care is available during the Sunday School hour.
Women
The United Methodist Women meet on the second Monday of each month from 7 to 8:30 PM. The group provides opportunities for spiritual nurture, community service, and fellowship.
We strongly recommend the Ladies’ Bible Study, which meets in the Fellowship Hall on Thursdays at 10 AM. See more info on our Bible Study page.
St. Mark’s hosts the newly-formed Roanoke-North Mom’s Club, which meets in our Fellowship Hall on the second Monday of each month, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. The group, comprised of home-makers and moms whose out-of-house work allows them to attend, provides community for mothers and supervised playtime for their pre-school-aged children. For more information, contact Club President Bobbie Crawford at 977-0315.
Men’s Prayer Group
A small group of men meets each Wednesday morning in the Sanctuary at 7 AM, to pray for our church, our broader community and one another.
Circle of Prayer
Do you feel you need more time talking with God? Would you like to get to know a circle of fellow believers better, or to develop spiritual friendships? Come to the Circle of Prayer, a weekly gathering of those who pray for our church, community and world. The Circle meets Sundays in the Parlor at 6:30 PM.
