Children's Activities
As evidenced every Sunday in worship, when 20 to 30 children come forward for the Children's message, St. Mark's is blessed with many young disciples. Families can count on several ministries just for kids at St. Mark's:
On Sunday nights, the F.R.O.G.s program ("Fully Reliant on God') combines fun activities, singing, a nutritious meal and fun fellowship to build a Christian identity with Elementary-aged children. The program begins at 5 PM and ends at 7 PM, and includes Children's Choir . Participants are able to accumulate F.R.O.G. Dollars by participating in mission work, which in turn can be spent on terrific prizes - and gifts for others - in the "F.R.O.G. store." Ages K through 5th.
In addition, children of all ages can count on a Sunday School class tailored for their age-group, where they'll likely see familiar faces from school as well as make new friends. A church-wide Bible verse memorization effort is presently underway. At 400 verses, Rev. Dave has promised to spend the night up on the church roof!
At the 11:00 service, Children's Church is offered for all kids below 2nd Grade, at which they learn the elements of Christian worship and create a fun craft.
Child Care for pre-elementary children is provided by adult volunteers under the on-site supervision of a trained staff-person. Child care is available during all worship services, Sunday School, adult Choir rehearsal and by special arrangement at other times. A Child Care Ministries brochure is available in the Narthex and the Nursery.
For ministries with older children (Jr. High and Sr. High), please see our Youth page.
